By Jonathan + February 28th, 2007

If you’re following my continuing saga of WhyYouShould, you’ll be happy to know that I’ve finally got membership up-and-running! You can now create an account so everyone will know the zany reasons why you think you should do stuff.

If you’re into the backend stuff (not that “backend” you sick pervert) you’ll notice that [...]

NFB pulling their videos off YouTube

By Jonathan + February 22nd, 2007

Anyone who grew up watching Canadian television knows the animated-short “The Cat Came Back” (1988) produced by the National Film Board of Canada. It’s a silly, 7-minute cartoon that would air on CBC in-between programming.

This morning I was looking at “20 of the most amazing short animations you need to see before you die”, [...]

Janina Gavankar from “The L Word”

By Jonathan + February 21st, 2007

I feel like I would be remiss if I didn’t note the newest actress on “The L Word”, Janina Gavankar, who plays Papi.

I’ve been watching “The L Word” (pssst the “L word” is “lesbian” in case you were confused), for over a year now, and it’s getting better and better. The characters are really [...]

:20 Minute Workout

By Jonathan + February 20th, 2007

Here’s a blast from the past; specifically, the 80s (the forgotten decade). This video is way more sexy than I remember It stands as proof that pretty much nothing good came out of the 80s, except Thundercats perhaps…

I wonder if this video was what SNL was making fun of a couple weeks [...]

Dax Flame: The Newest Star of the Interweb

By Jonathan + February 19th, 2007

This kid is definitely the next star of the interweb. I don’t know if this is fake like Bridezilla or not, but someone edited together his whole creation story.

Now, this kid definitely needs some help, but I think this video is set to go viral. You can find a record of all his [...]

Diggbaiting

By Jonathan + February 16th, 2007

As I was misrepresenting this news story on Digg as a story about Colin Farrell (it turns out, the guy just looks like him), it came to me that this would be a cool way to manipulate Digg.

Say your site, and another site, were competing with the same content to get digged first/the most. [...]

Since I lost most of my traffic this week, having devote my blog to RedDot content, I felt the need to “get back on the horse” with a link to this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. This new model, Bar Refaeli, makes me feel all warm-and-fuzzy inside…and outside…uh oh…

Stupid safety card

By Jonathan + February 14th, 2007

Flying United for the first time, I decided to check out the safety card for our plane. The following caught my eye:
"If you are sitting in an exit row please identify yourself to a crewmember to allow for reseating if: You lack the ability to read, speak, or understand the language, or the graphic [...]

Caution, moving walk is nearing an end

By Jonathan + February 14th, 2007

Our gate just happens to be right beside the end of a moving sidewalk that seems to feel the need to tell EVERY SINGLE PERSON that rides the sidewalk, "Caution, moving walk is nearing and end. Please watch your step. Thank you" over and over and over and over… I think it’s giving [...]

We are almost on our way home

By Jonathan + February 14th, 2007

Air Canada came through and set us up on another flight.  We couldn’t get through to Air Canada on the phone, but when we picked up our tickets we were already confirmed on a later flight (and later, we got on an even earlier flight).  Hurrah for Air Canada…well…if we end up getting home tonight [...]
