Flickr2Facebook v0.3

By Jonathan + March 18th, 2007

I’m trying to eliminate a few clicks when uploading a lot of images at once using my Flickr2Facebook tool. I figured that if you’re uploading a lot of Flickr photos at once, you probably want them going into the same Facebook photo album. To make that easier, I added a “click here to use last settings” button to the bookmarklet that throws the image directly into the last album you used, without popping up a new window.

You don’t want to know what kind of Javascript magic I had to cast to get that link appearing only if you’re logged in, and have a “last setting”, but it should be working in Firefox, Safari, and Opera. IE is being a bit of a pain because it doesn’t seem to pass cookies when it retrieves an image, but I’ll try to fix that this week.

Anyhow, please try it out and leave me any notes here :) Have fun!

Although this is useful, I’m still hoping for a complete import method to import photos from my Flickr Account to my Facebook Account. I suppose something like this will occur with time.

They have that; it’s called flickurbook @ http://www.mononexo.com/flickurbook/

It sucks in everything available via your Flickr RSS feed. Flickr2Facebook is for selective importing from your, or anyone elses’, Flickr feed.

I’m having problems logging in - any ideas? It just hangs forever when Facebook redirect back to your server.

Tried a handful of times over the past few days.

I’ve tried and wanna thank you for a great feature. When I finally found out how it works (my fault as I didn’t read your description carefully!) it was very easy to get my Flickr pics to Facebook.

@matt: Sorry you’re having trouble. I shot you an email and hopefully we’ll figure out what’s going on.

@RennyBA: Thanks :)

Flickr2Facebook is a fantastic app! Are you still maintaining it? It is a clever little mashup, and am highly appreciative of!

My only request of it would be to have it open in the same window; I typically have ten or more photos open, and click them all over to Facebook, but can loose track or order.

I am having trouble with the app. I sign in to facebook, and after it takes me back to your page it says I haven’t made the bookmarklet, but I did. what should I do?
