My Busted Tees shipping to Canada goes through Sweden (UPDATED)

I ordered a hilarious shirt from Busted Tees on March 4th and it just got here today. In the end, they took 6 weeks to get two tshirts to Toronto, Canada (not even a little town or anything).

On their FAQ page they say, “International orders can take 2-3 weeks.” I emailed them after 2.5 weeks and I got this reply (within a day, to their credit):

Recently it has been taking up to 4-6 weeks for orders to be delivered in Canada because of the security checks that it must go through to get through customs

I patiently waited another 3 weeks and finally I got the package jammed in my mailbox today. But check out the seal on the envelope: “Posten Sverlge AB Internation Mail”. SWEDEN?! What the heck was my shirt doing in Sweden?!

I think the next time I want a hilarious tshirt, I’ll just wear my industry schwag and save myself 6 weeks. Of course, very few of my shirts have been to Sweden, so I’d like to think this one is kinda special ;)

Welcome aboard, buddy. Sorry ’bout the pits :D

UPDATE 4/13/2007: Less than 24 hours after this blog entry first appeared, Busted Tees sent me a personal email apologizing for the “human error” that sent my shirt on the scenic route to Canada through Sweden, and refunding me the full shipping amount. I really wasn’t going to bug them about it, since I’ve had online orders from the States take weeks-and-weeks to arrive before. But it was great of them to take an interest in what the online world is saying, and try to rectify the situation.

For the record, I will order from Busted Tees again, and they remain the best source of funny dinosaur shirts :)

    Hey,

I was wondering if you remembered how much it cost to ship your shirt. I also live in Canada, There seems to be a lack of info on there site. I have emailed them and so far it has been ignored.

I may just be a ultra supreme idiot moron but it seems to say that internation orders are $12. Then is says Canada is not considered international.

    Thanks

they are now charging a base shipping rate of $17.99 to Canada. Isn’t that completely ridiculous?

I ordered more than $100 worth of tee shirts from Busted Tees. They sent me an email on December 15, 2008, saying that my order had been shipped on that very day. I’ve sent three emails to Busted Tees inquiring about my order. Although there site claims that all emails will be responded to in 1 business day, I have received no such response. When I call their phone number, 877-287-8333, a young lady’s prerecorded message says that their office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., although I have no idea what time zone she is talking about. Today is Christmas Eve, and Busted Trees has not responded to me. And by the way, my shipping was “3-day select” with UPS. You do the math. Apparently, Busted Tees is run by young people; apparently too young to know how to run a business properly. Beware of Busted Tees.

To add to my first posting: I’m in Eastern time zone. If Busted Tees is in Pacific time, that would make their 9 a.m., my noon, because of the 3 hour difference. It is now 12:10, and I am still getting the recorded message when I call their office. Again, BEWARE OF BUSTED TEES. They’ll take your money, but won’t respond to phone calls, at least they haven’t with me. There are plenty of other sites to buy tee shirts from.

It is so frustrating when some of these stores wont send internationally. My cousin suggested using some parcel forwarding co; after reading a bunch of online reviews and how it all works I found one called Shipito. They charged me $15 bucks for a 2 lb parcel as compared to some other ridicuous quotes of $46 dollars for the same thing. So, i think i got a sweet deal!
