An update to my previous entry, I’ve started seeing others complaining about this: Global is only airing high-definition shows over Bell ExpressVu, not over Rogers Cable’s “Global HD” channel. They obviously made some exclusivity agreement but are too chicken to put out a press release to that effect.
The evil beavers are stealing my HD! 
Interesting. I can’t see this lasting for long. I’m lucky to have Expressvu but honestly don’t find myself watching Global HD very often with all of the other channels (really enjoy travel and nature programming of all things!)
