Rogers Media, a division of Rogers Communications, said late on Monday it will buy five local television stations in Canada from CTVglobemedia for C$375 million ($354 million) in cash.
The regulatory Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission ordered CTVglobemedia last week to sell the five stations as a condition for approval of its C$1.7 billion purchase of the CHUM radio and television empire. (source)
It’s not known yet how or if the CHUM group will be split up, given that many CHUM specialties run programming made by and for Citytv. For example, how FashionTelevision (the show on Citytv) and FashionTelevisionChannel will work as separate companies was addressed in the announcements, nor was the fate of iconic Toronto landmark, The CHUMCity Building. (Thanks for the awesome pic, BMatt)

The guys at Jack FM (a Rogers Media station) were bugging the Weather Guy on Breakfast TV out here in Calgary this morning.
Not sure who’s got it worse…
