I don’t understand why they load you on the plane, THEN they check the engines (and in this case, found a problem with one). Can’t they check if the plane you’re boarding is functional before they put you in it?

Looks like they’re testing the new lights for the Canada Day festivities next weekend. The CN tower is lit-up in white and red (though it’s hard to see it from this camera-phone pic :))
