This building actually has quite a long and distinguished history, it was the first club in the area back in 1990 before the “entertainment district” even existsed, alot of legendary club culture happened there, before the mainstream Joker came in…
23 Hop (middle floor only)
Freak Show (middle floor only)
Joker (renovated to be all three floors)
Volume (shooting occured within a week of opening, causing it to close down)
A friend and I ran the nightclub Freak Show in this building circa 1994-1996, then Liberty Group took over. There is actually a facebook group for this, check out “Surviving Members of the Freak Show”
