I’ve been using the Brightness Theme on my blog for the past few months. It’s been great and a lot of people have complimented me on it. But it looks like the creator of the theme has gotten screwed by a domain-squatter. His site was DailyWP.com which is now just a link-farm page. It’s a shame because a lot of people are linking to that URL to get the Brightness Theme.
I have a copy of the theme files which I may post if they don’t come back soon, but for all those people already running the Brightness Theme, there are some issues if you upgrade your site to WordPress 2.7. I’ve written this patch to fix the problems and get you up and running. There were just some minor problems with the setting screens and the “news sections” on the home page. Just drag these files into your /wp-content/themes/Brightness Theme/ directory and it should fix everything.
I hope those theme-ers at DailyWP.com come back some day; they did good work
UPDATE 12/26: I’ve gotten a few requests for the full theme, so I’ve included it below with the patch applied.

thanks a lot. do you know where to download the theme now (or maybe you can send it to me the?). i looked all around…
Thank you very much for the upload. I’ve been looking for this theme and thank God, you were able to keep a copy. And kudos for the WP fix. I can’t thank you enough for it.
@fred I updated this post with a link to the full theme. Cheers!
you beamed it up! thank you!
I just created a WordPress 2.7 site and tried to install the Brightness theme from your download link. The preview (with or without your fix) comes up blank. Can’t figure out why.
Ah never mind. It works even though the preview is blank.
Ok legit question, I think.
How are you getting the preview images to show for the posts? I’ve inserted an image to the post which i can see, but all the previews are blank.
I installed the Brightness theme (thanks for providing it) and the patch and I get a left justified, no image site. Do you have any ideas?
This is very gracious of you.
And Sorel Mihai deserves to get dailywp.com back! I love the kid’s design sense.
THANKS A TON!! You can see my version at: Samanathon.com!
Hi,
Please visit my site and open up one of the posts. You will see that there is an issue here with internet explorer whereby the right hand column appears at the bottom of the page instead of alongside the post. I installed the Brightness theme yesterday and used the one from this page so should be fully patched. This error does not occur in Fire Fox or Safari. Can you assist me at all?
Many thanks
Sorry I didn’t leave the URL before.

WOW, Thanks so much!!
Hi,
I installed this theme in two wordpress sites and I found an extrange behaviour with newssections, it repeats the excerpt from the last (not newest) post of the lastest articles loop in every section I have. The title, permalink, author, and so on is correct but the excerpt is showing a wrong content… any tip?
using wp2.7 and no plugins
Dude, thank you so much.
Thanks for this! ^_^
thanks for this patch !
Thanks for share this
It work for me
Thank you SO MUCH for this solution! I’ve been searching for such a patch for months now! However, I’ve got the same problem as James. How can I solve this?
Got the same problem as alturo:

Pete.
Are you defining for each post a specific excerpt using the “excerpt” field in the post writing page? I find that you have to specify what you want the excerpt to be for each most for it to work properly.
I am using brightness theme and I have to say -it’s great.
