New Bittorrent Search Engine

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Lately, a few people have asked me what Bittorrent site is best. I can’t be bothered to use torrents myself anymore, but this search is the best out there that I’ve seen. Have fun downloading all those Linux ISOs on Bittorrent…that is what you are using it for, right? :D

Cooking an Egg with a Cellphone

Monday, July 31st, 2006

Cooking an egg in 65 minutes with a cellphone really is the kind of thing that should worry me, but honestly, I just hope it gives my future children super-powers…or makes me sterile. Either way, I guess :D

Bikini Case Mod

I’m not sure how much work I’d get done if my PC looked like this, but I’d have a hell-of-a-time doing it! :D

Motorized Pool Lounger

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

I think I found my newest bathtub toy. I’ve been looking for a way to float, drink beer, and navigate at the same time, so this is going to be a real lifesaver. Seriously, put me in a lake and you may not see me for a few weeks with this thing. Arrrr, the pirate’s life for me :D

Recharging Regular Batteries

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

I can’t decide if this is some sort of Christmas miracle, or a quick way to melt a battery that will spray acid all over you. Either way, sounds fun to try :D

I-Hacked.com Taking Advantage Of Technology – Charging the unchargeable

As we all know, it costs a fortune to continuously feed our devices with fresh batteries. Not to mention the cost of rechargeables. Afroman’s guide to recharging alkaline batteries seemed to be the answer to that little problem so I decided to build the device he describes on his website. In the following article, I will show you how to easiliy make a device that can charge the unchargeable — normal Alkaline Batteries

The Day of the Linux Smartphones

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

For some reason today (a Tuesday no less) was the day Linux smartphones seemed to be on everybody’s mind. From hacking a Treo 650 to whole “initiatives” devoted to the cause, people really seem to need that penguin on their cellphone. I totally know why: imagine you whip that baby out of your man-bag and start talking; the ladies will be all over you! Just touch-up, blot, and you’re ready for the ball :|

Photos of Kilauea Volcano

Monday, December 5th, 2005

I noticed these photos of lava on this site that was referenced by a recent Slashdot story. Nothing like looking at pictures of hot lava, on a cold winter’s night :D

Slingbox in Canada

Sunday, November 6th, 2005

It looks like the Slingbox is just about ready to come to Canada (if you can trust a PR guy in a message board ;-) ). I’ve been looking for an easy way to get TV streamed onto a PC without a PVR, and this seems like a pretty good option. It’s small, simple and fairly cheap compared to even just the Windows Media Center OEM software. Plus, I like simple pieces of hardware (or software) that do one thing, and do it well. Less to go wrong ;-)

Sling Community – Purchase in Canada

We are working to open distribution in Canada, however, and I think we will succeed within the next month or so.
