After it was mentioned on ‘The Office’ tonight, I thought I’d check out if there actually was a Wikiedia entry on ‘Office robbery statistics’. Well, great minds think alike
Someone has already started a stub but it was already marked for “speedy deletion”.
Emma and I added a bunch of sections to it to try to make it legit. Checkout the screenshots of what we had done so far below. But out of no where, despite being marked contested, it was deleted by Rockpocket for having “No meaningful, substantive content”. I’m no expert on adding new entries to Wikipedia, but it’s crazy to me that someone can’t have 15 minutes to build up an entry before it’s deleted.
Luckily, others have taken up the mantle of adding our stupid little entry back to Wikipedia. Information is meant to be free!
(via videogum who has heard our plea)
UPDATE: The system works! The ‘Office Robbery Statistics’ entry has just been undeleted! I can go to sleep now
UPDATE #2: The entry was just deleted again. Is this how it always is trying to add something to Wikipedia? I’m going to sleep either way, but I hope others take-up the cause overnight
UPDATE #3: We still haven’t been able to get the ‘Office robbery statistics’ entry back, but Nate was able to get an ‘Office robbery’ entry going that hasn’t been questioned yet. w00t!
UPDATE #4: ‘Office robbery’ has now been deleted for being “vandalism”. Now Nate (comments below) has added a section called “Office robbery statistics” to the ‘Office’ entry. It contains real information so we’ll see how long that lasts
UPDATE #5: The ‘Office robbery statistics’ section in the ‘Office’ entry has now been renamed ‘Office theft statistics’. Are these Wikipedia dicks really that petty?!
